Mary Ann Shaw’s retirement party

Friends, family, fellow volunteers, members of the community and local dignitaries gathered at University City’s City Hall to honor and celebrate Mary Ann Shaw’s 28+ years with U City in Bloom as a volunteer, Executive Director and one of the original founders of U City in Bloom. The event included music from a trio from the University City High School Jazz Band and a performance by St. Louis Symphony musicians; Helen Kim, Jessica Cheng, Elizabeth Chung and Eva Kozma. Mary Ann received resolutions and proclamations from Mayor Shelley Welsch; State Representative Stacey Newman and State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal. Other presenters included the Superintendent of U City Schools,: Joylynn Pruitt, Joe Edwards, Ewald Winker, fellow U City in Bloom board members and her husband, Dick Shaw.  We are so very grateful to Mary Ann for her vision, endless energy and dedication to U City in Bloom.  Mary Ann will remain active as a U City in Bloom board member and volunteer.
