Off to the compost
The chill of winter is fast approaching. U City in Bloom crews continue the clean up by removing spent annuals, dividing perennials, planting tulips and pansies and mulching the beds. The annuals and leaves will head to the compost pile and will likely return to a garden near you next spring. Garden list of things to do; put away the garden hoses, terra-cotta and glazed pottery, and bring in any house plants you want to winter over until next spring.
