The University City Parks Centennial Committee, The Green Center, and U City in Bloom invite you to A Walk through the Ruth Park Woods
April 16, 1–4 PM
At 1 PM, Mayor Terry Crow will open the Centennial Year of the Parks witha ribbon cutting at the entrance and recognize all who have participated in the Parks’ Centennial Celebration and the restoration of Ruth Park Woods.
From 1:30 to 4 PM, enjoy a tour of the forest lead by knowledgeable Woods Volunteers and learn more about this unique park.
View A Year in the Life of the Woods, a video created by Byron Sletten, which will be continuously shown in the adjoining tent.
The entrance for this event is on the east side of the Ruth Park Golf Course parking lot on Groby Road. Woods guests are directed to park in the Brittany Woods Parking lot, 8125 Groby Road. Please note: If you intend to join a tour, bring a water bottle and wear walking shoes. The 1.2-mile trail (2.4 miles out and back) is a work in progress, neither paved nor graveled, and requires sure footing. If you would like to access an easier entrance for a shorter walk, please talk to one of our volunteer guides.
