U City in Bloom held its bi-annual garden tour on Sunday, Sept. 20th, 2015. The theme of the tour was “History and the Gardens”. The tour allowed ticket holders access to a dozen gardens of private homes in University City’s oldest neighborhoods including University Heights, Ames Place and Parkview neighborhoods. Also included on the tour was the community garden in the Parkview Gardens neighborhood. Following the tour, a reception with BBQ donated by Salt and Smoke was held at University City Hall where a silent auction and photos were displayed from the U City in Bloom Photo Show.
We are deeply grateful to all of our volunteers, garden hosts and those who supported this fundraiser by purchasing tickets or donating to the event. We are also very thankful to Mother Nature who gave us the perfect, sunny fall day to enjoy a garden tour. Proceeds from the event are used to expand existing gardens and to maintain the planters and gardens throughout University City. Photos from the 2015 Garden Tour by Nan Rochberg.
